Just received the latest prop from Turbo today and thought I'd show the new TXP here for all to see. Prop is 14-3/4 inches in diameter with a 25" pitch. Can't wait to bolt it on and see how it performs on the King Cobra driven 22.

This prop isn't even on their web site yet - what's the skinny on this versus the Turbo I or Vector?

Todd *roadtrip* ran a prototype at AOTH... all the way to lee's ford and back... i'd ask his opinion :)

RedDog, would this type of prop fit on my 18'. Most of all would it do any good?

What's the URL name for the turbo prop web site? BLACKIE

Blackie - that Turbo would definitiely fit but for pitch I would think 23 inch would be more in line. Not just any Turbo though - need one hubbed for the King Cobra (right Greg?) Would it do any good? I don't know. I only ran the 22 Raker and it seemed to do the trick. But then I never compared to anything else.

When are you going to try it Greg? This year?

The url is http://www.turbo-props.com/

"Nervous Energy" - I like it!

RedDog, since I have not had the 18' out yet what is the average RPM's at WOT that you experienced with Raker 22?

Honestly it would rev more than I could drive through the chine walk. I could run at 5000 RPM briefly. I hit 5100-5200 a time or 2. 5000 RPM is probably right at 69 or 70 GPS. When I took you and Harry out we were likely at 67 - 68 true speed but I don't recall the tach position.

I always wanted to try some other props, but then when it came time to hit the water I then didn't want to sacrifice my limited time to enjoy the water since the Raker seemed to be fine.

Yes I plan on running the new prop this year..hopefully tomorrow and definitely down in FL when we had down there Dec. 5th
It definitely has a longer barrel with no flare at the end of it compared to the Turbo 1 and a different blade design.
From what Todd said, he liked the handling of it better than his Mirage Plus and accelerated really well. He also said the one he tried did not have enough pitch for him to see what top speed he could get. He also ranit on a Imco shorty, we'll have to see how it runs on a longer leg.

Blackie, if you're looking for a new prop, you will have to make sure you get one hubbed for an OMC King.

I want one, I want one! How long does a sober man have to wait!

Glad to hear you got your hands on one Greg. Let's hear how she runs!

The prototype I ran for over 100 miles at AOTH3 was pretty sweet. Greg hit it right on the head.
Much better manners than the Mirage, excellent mid-range acceleration, but the 28 wasn't enough pitch for me. The prop felt like a hydro, the way it hooked up, with none of the bad manners of the three blade.

Well, hopefully, I'll get a chance to try one again, next spring. :( :(

Living vicariously through the Dork..
