Wow,

The temp outside went down to 65 last night. My kids begged for a fire. As a good father I turned up the air conditioning to get the house real cold and tossed some logs into the fireplace.

Funny thing, my house in Wisconsin did not have a fireplace, my home in Florida does! Oh well, time to go mow the yard.

We had one back on trick or treat night, listenign to music, sipping warm apple cider, with a big bonfire in the driveway passing out candy!!!

Get one of those Kerosene ones in Wisconsin lol.

This will be my fourth winter in this house. It's got two fireplaces, each big enough to handle 4 foot logs. That first winter I bought a box of those fake logs at Costco. Almost used them up...all nine of them. I've bought three boxes total and currently have about 6 left. Maybe we'll have a really cold winter and I can use them all. :p

St. Petersburg is chilly; but nice this time of year.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing snow, (haven't in years), and smelling the fireplace burning in the night air, sipping on some good wine, nestling in a big oversized couch with my feet up, my honey beside me, wearing something way too sexy, snuggling up more and more, the room getting hot with wild passion, and you know the rest................isn't that's how it goes every night, up north?

Cold as a welldigger's a$$ here in Massachusetts too. And we're expecting a hell of a ripper coming in on Thursday (supposedly). I'm not a big fan of Nor'Easters.

Bring on the snow.... I got two high powered boat anchors in the form of Polaris XC-800's just dying to get ridden!! They are studded, fueled and ready to go!

You Florida boys have it awful only two seasons, hurricane/rainy season and nice season. You also have to deal with, nice weather, t-storms in the afternoon you can set your watch to, flat straight roads, Palmetto bugs, lizards, transients etc.... need I go on?

I'll take good ole New England... We get 4 seasons! Snowmobile season, winter to the rest of you under privileged folk, motorcyle season, that would be spring, Donzi season (summer obviously) and we have atv season also known as the fall. Of course most of the seasons do overlap some. We also don't have to deal with lizards, palmetto bugs, hurricanes, trailer parks, flat roads (we like em windy & hilly... better to ride the motorcycles on), towns that look the same or alligators. We also get real lobster, you know, the ones with CLAWS....

Woodsy,

Blah blah blah blah blah. Lived in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin for 30 years. Watched the sleds sit on the trailer waiting for snow. When the snow would finally get around to fall, my mod stock 1 Polaris would stretch its legs. Then oops, the next day it would warm up to 34 deg. and all melt away.

I will give you this. I do miss watching the first snow fly, and then the excitement of getting the boat out of storage in the spring.

I don't miss the bone chilling cold, the 1/4" of ice covering everything after an ice storm, dressing the kids up in eighteen layers of clothes, the car heater dropping the humidity down to zero (That dry mouth feeling was a drag).

Oh, I almost forgot, ... no I didn't I remember it quite well. Your in the car, you are boiling hot but you kids in the back are freezing to death, so you leave the heat on for them.

To me one of the best things about Florida is being able to extend an invitation to family and friends to spend the holidays with me and my family.

Woodsy, smile...only five more months to go!
Bundle Up!

Your southern friend,

Bryant

Woodsy,
with all due respect, you forgot T-back season, the other 23 hours and 15 minutes per day that it is not raining during the rainy season, get naked at the beach because it is not too cold season, go outside and not have to shovel your car out of the snow season, do whatever you want outside becasue you can season, and my favorite 12 months or Donzi boating season. Then again, I might be a little biased :)

If you get bored (or are not burried under 10 feet of snow), come on down to Fla for the Seadogs on the St. Johns- weather should be beautiful.
