Does anyone know anything about the performance of a 16 classic with the 4.3/190hp mercrusier?? I am looking at one but have no idea how fast it is, or if it has any other problems. Any good, bad or otherwise would be greatly appreciated.

Jack Keefe (CrackerJack) has one with that same engine.
We have tried a few props on it and it runs
50 MPH. on GPS. Jack, any thoughts??

Mine ran 55-57. Still in the family, because one of my good friends owns and runs the boat with us on a regular basis. Great hole shot for skiing and tube riding. Awesome sensation of speed, because the boat is so low to the water. Takes skill to run it, which makes it just that much more fun.

Buy it!

Yea, that was when Ted was driving. My best was
51 on a GPS at 4600 rpms. That is about correct using the formula for calculating speeds. That is with a 1.81:1 alpha. Runs forever on a tank of gas and provides alot of fun. Haven't been about to break it yet.

Fishboy,
I don't know anything about it. I saw it on Ebay and was looking at prices just out of curiosity. His NADA numbers were high. He put in the wrong engine. Low retail is in the 11s.

If it is everything he says it is, it's probably a good deal at $9500. It would be a steal at $8k.

Just my thoughts.
