I am waiting for the word from The Boardwalk Hotel in A Bay, They have docks,Hot Tubs and a boat ramp, This place is great, This town loves Performance boats they want me to hang banners and invite the general public to come view our boats! I have to get in touch with the local Donzi dealer up there, There are Bar and grills all over the place and Steve (Boxy) is going to hook us up with one that offers some great specials. I will be going up Thursday July 10th and getting everything in place.

Got the green light from Beth also. Looking to leave Columbus on the 8th and stay until the 14th. Big chunk of my vacation also, but hey, you only live once and this might be my only trip there. Now, just hope nothing breaks in KY. Poodle, you and Heidi will be missed. I guess you bringing my blower Classic to AOTH is out? wink Matty, I think it is Alexandria Bay not Alexander. May want to modify the poster a little. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. I've never been there. My associates run the castle for me. wink

We're there. The last poker run we did a few years back is something that I will never forget.
I'm sure that a Donzi event will refresh those great memories.

Logistics may be an issue coming all the way from Texas, Jill thinks I'm frinckin' nuts for even considering towing it, but it's really just a two day marathon tow. I'll pick her up in Syracuse!

There will be no remote shot calls to Texas while you guys are on the St. Lawrence!

Frank it sounds like it is coming together great.
If anyone wants to ship anything up ahead of time, there is a bonded warehouse I use on the US side of the border a few miles from A-Bay. Also anyone wanting to fly, look into Syracuse NY, it is right next again to Interstate 81, 100 miles from A-Bay.
As soon as the ice is out I'll have to start ferrying beer across the river. :D :D

Scott Boldts - if you look down the docks, past the paddle wheel tour boat, you can see the corner of your castle. In the far right of the picture you can see the docks of the RiverEdge Resort, it has a great glass walled resturant overlooking the castle, and just right of it is the RumRunner bar and grill, lots of docks, boatside service, live bands during the day and great frozen drinks.
http://www.bonniecastle.com/resort/images/rumrunner.jpg
The bar that I'm pretty sure will be hosting us is The Islander, they have live music 7 nights a week, great bands from all over NY State, a great house band that doesn't mind visiting musicians sitting in, (Winni Bandits pack your stuff) and the best part is every night they host the Islander Power Hour - free booze from 8:00 Pm - 9:00 Pm.

Sounds good Frank,
just have some questions

salt or fresh water?
is a 16 big enough
any special permits or conditions with our Canadian neighbors?
Kids yeh or neh?
This might be a possibilty for our Vac this year

thanks

Matt

Matty, I'll try to answer a few questions, I'll leave the others for Frank.
Crystal clear FRESH water.
The 16 is big enough, even if we run up to Kingston, and Lake Ontario is rough, there are a couple of inside channels.
We'll only have to deal with Canada/US Customs/Immigration if we actually land in Canada, then Canada Customs will want picture ID upon our landing, and US Customs will require the same thing once we land back in the States. I deal with both of the Customs offices daily, so as the weekend gets closer I will set something up with them. Anyone not wanting to deal with Customs simply has to avoid Canadian land all weekend, not Canadian water.
As far as kids, I don't know what Franks plans are, but there is plenty for kids to do in A-Bay, 9karting, batting cages, mini-put) and I might be able to arrange some babysitters if people wanted them.

Matt, Kids Yes, My kids have been attending Poker Runs since they were young ones, Now I have my wife following behind me towing my sons 16 Donzi to A-Bay, Boxy is our Ambassador to the A-Bay area, He is also my co pilot on any Poker Run I attend in that area or anyother run he liked to come to. I talked to Frank from the Boardwalk Resorts today he is going to check out of the 43 Rooms, How many are not spoken for and Dock space. I will no more tomorow. You will love this town, there is so much to do here and we will be planning some Donzi field trips that the water is perfect for any size boat, Bolt Castle is no 1 on the list. We can dock all the Donzi's there.
I will not more as the week ends.
Frank

Harbormaster don't worry it's run by a born and bred Texan. Val Belcher was born in Houston, and played his college ball at the University of Houston, before moving to Canada to play football in the CFL.
