Forgive me fellas if I am too proud of a father, but this story is too good to not pass on.

I bought my 18 Classic last September and only took it out once last year. This year we've taken it out regularly and taken by daughter with us. Right now she's 23 months, but obviously when we started in May/June she was younger.

She has taken to the boat like a kid takes to a puppy. She is constantly saying "boat, boat" and pointing outside to where its kept. Anytime we put sunscreen on her (for whatever reason) she says "boat, boat" because we always do that before we go out.

The best part, and only something you all can appreciate, is if you ask her what a "boat says," she replies with a noise that can only be a Donzi engine with thru-hull exhaust.

We were out today and I thought I'd post a picture with the story. She is truly a Donzi fan, even if she is just about two years old. It makes me so happy to know she can grow up and enjoy the boat with me.

Great picture!!! I have a 3yr. old daughter who up until this summer loved boating on my 18' Classic. Still havn't figured out why she doesn't want to ride on it anymore. Maybe it's the thru-hull bothering her ears. I'm hoping she will grow out of it and want to race the boys in there Whalers in a few years. Ha Ha

BadDog,
You truly are a lucky man, Very cute kid, and Awesome boat.
Believe me when I say I can relate to your story of bringing your daughter on the boat at a young age....you see my dad is probably the nuttiest when it comes to this...My maiden voyage on our X18 Donzi was when I was ONE WEEK OLD!!! How nuts is he right!!?!?lol oh well, I truly love him for it today, I didnt have a clue what kind of legend I was riding in, but today, I am all the more appreciative to him for that. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/smile.gif

P.S. He used to roll up the canvas and lay me down underneath the dash, where the white 'tray' mold is under the ignition key. The yellow float on the keys would keep me quiet. (so im told)

It must be something in the water. I was regularly brought out on my Grandfather's 17' Thompson starting at around 9 months old.

Great pic Rick! It still amazes me how many people on this board have similar jobs, hobbies, experiences, attitudes, etc. It seems that Donzi somehow is a common ground for people that turn out to have a lot of common ground.
