What are you guys using for trailers. I just stumbled across a NEW 1997 22 Classic and it needs a trailer. The dealership wants to sell me a leftover '98 Eagle for about $2700 but I think thats a little high. Any suggestions or feedback would be appreciated.

Dave

PS: My 18 Classic has to go $8500 w/trailer Excellent condition!!

Last month I bought a custom aluminum tandem Rolls from T A Mahoneys built for my 22 with his custom disc brakes.
Base price for a 24/60T $2200
Brakes and spare holder $550
Out of state, NO TAX

Here is a pic of my 18 on a 21/60 Rolls

Rick,

You've got TWO Donzi's! How come you havn't sold Genuine Risk? Lenny, you've been looking and looking and looking and looking (J.Geils, baby) http://www.donzi.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Lenny,

No question if I was to do it over instead of spending 10 K to redo my boat
I would have saved for Rick's. He is a fanatic in the best sense of the word. It is the slickest, best all around set up I have seen. Speed, power, reliabilty and so much more. And I know for a fact that I am anot the only one who thinks they should have bought Genuine Risk. BTW what is the name of the 22?

Chris

Yes, yes, yes,I hear all of you. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif I'm still around, pacing, pulling my hair out, and wondering what to do. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/confused.gif I think I need a shrink to get over this "Donzi Thing". http://www.donzi.net/ubb/eek.gifI look at Ricks' boat on my lap top wallpaper about 50 times a day. I don't need you guys to rub it in. I have a map of America on my bedroom wall with a long cardboard pointer with the scale/miles and driving distance in time/overnight sleeps all calculated on it with many of your boats marked on it. Yes, Rick in Tennessee is on it, as well as Bverd, New Hampshire, others from New York, Florida, Georgia, Ohio etc etc etc. This is getting sick... http://www.donzi.net/ubb/frown.gif I don't write here much anymore cause it only hampers my ongoing therapy.

What happens when I:
a) run Ricks' boat in a salt only environment? (sorry to say it, but it is true)
b) scatter his engine and have to find replacement parts for it when I haven't got a clue what it currently has inside and don't have the "Parts Shops", dyno's etc that you people have access to or the wealth of local knowledge?

I am certainly starting to follow Chris's (CDMA)train of thought here,... buy a nice one that works instead of spending double for the same thing as well as the time required to do it. What are the OMC years again? I think I'm best off with a stock-stockish 350 (260-300HP)and an Alpha for my salt environment and available "tuners". How much is a windshield installed for the Classic 18? (This isn't Florida here you know) How is it that "Python" can sell their "Viper"?... (Hot Boat article, Grimes 500hp small block, 82mph, just like Geoo,...for now...)It is an exact copy of the Classic is it not? I thought that there was a requirement to modify an existing TM by 50% or more in order to market it? Glad to see all of you haven't left me for dead... http://www.donzi.net/ubb/smile.gif

The point is the upgrade to Rick's boat from a garden variety 18 is so little you will spend that much buying a Rolls trailer for whatever ok boat you buy. Listen salt water kills but these boats are meant to be used. Put freshwater cooling and wash the heck out of the thing. It still will be bad but really it will hurt a SB alpha as much as it will a BB OMC. Also as far as I know Rick's engine is niecly built but by no means radical. A mercruiser 454 magnum puts out 415 hp correct? Ricks puts out 420. Also Rick is not the kind of guy that does not know every little sigle part number inside that engine and it also is the ONLY boat I would ever buy sight unseen. But in college the most expensive thing I can afford not is a new toothbrush.

Oh and Madpoddle a laxative and a sleeping pill...are you smoking the same funny stuff as Gene....

I bought a Rolls Trailer last year. Picked it up right from Rolls on my way back from FL. I have a 1968 18 and the trailer I got was a 19/35s. I have to say its a piece of art.

Madpoodle(?)... I never put you and the boat together but this was my original "wallpaper" when I first found the registry. Looks great. How much are you thinking about ($?) When you say "just north of cuba" that doesn't mean I have to ask Fidel Castro if it is ok to leave the country with the boat does it? Power, leg, hours, gel-coat, paint? huh? How and what is it all? I guess you should e-mail me and get it off the original post. leonard.green@telus.com
