That's a big block Minx. If I lived in Florida, I would grab it.

Not a Minx according to the NADA Marine Appraisal Guide.
The only 21 footer made in 1983 was the Hornet III.
With a high of $9790 and a low of $6730. Average at $8990.
But my book is two years old and I'm not sure how the new book is rating these things now.
I say good deal, but I wouldn't think that $5K is going to last.
Hornet definitely. A minx has a raised front deck.

Sorry for the double post, but it looks like a GT to me. Did they make GT's in 83?
Nate
Isn't that the hull they used to paint the stripe on I-95 with ? http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

It's a cool looking boat. Is it not worth much for some reason?

The reason, I think is because, and I don't have much personal knowledge on this, is because they are slow.
Too heavy.

SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE. IF YOU WILL RECALL THIS VERY BOAT WAS ALREADY LISTED ON EBAY WITH NO RESERVE AND SOLD ABOUT 60 DAYS AGO. SAME BOAT, SAME PICTURES, SAME DESCRIPTIONS. I AM A SELLER ON EBAY AND I CAN TELL YOU THAT THIS AUCTION SMELLS FISHY!!!
THE AUCTION ENDED WITH A BID OF $6700 BY A PHANTOM BIDDER THAT BID ON 2 AUCTIONS BY BENT BOAT. I EXPECT THAT THIS BOAT WILL GO UP FOR AUCTION ONE MORE TIME. I SAY THIS BECAUSE I WENT TO HIALEAH TODAY AND SAW THE BOAT IN PERSON, THEY WERE ASKING $10,500 FOR IT "BUT WOULD LISTEN TO A CASH OFFER. " I NEVER MENTIONED EBAY SINCE THE BOAT IS A DOG.

Lou,
What's wrong with the boat?
PaulO
It was hit HARD on the side and poorly repaired, the floor is cracking and separating at some points. The engine ( not original ) appears to have been submerged as there is heavy rust where the paint was worn and on the inside of the distributor. The windshield is crazed, the hull has been repainted several times and the old paint is showing wherever there is a chip scrape or crack. The interior is weather beaten and has mold and mildew and some small rips and tears. Of course there is no such thing as a bad looking Donzi , but as my father once said: Love at first sight may be all right , but a second look can get you off the hook! This one is a dog: Rough Rough Rough!

I agree w lou,I went to see the boat before I got the minx. The fiberglass was shaved on one side (fell from trailer twice),is the same hornet no doubt, same yard same people. Will buy for a 1000$ remove engine and drive and have minx w BBlock, give the hull to one of you guys for free !!!!
You are absolutelty right Paul, $1000 is more than fair considering the source you are buying it from and that hull is trashed.

Is a TRS drive ambidexterous? In the pics (jamesbon post),two shots of stern show a LH cleaver prop-one shot shows a RH cleaver.Wonder if the drive was down when the boat was launched on the fway?
The yard it's in looks like an old cathouse!Scary............
Bent boat ( who is selling this boat ) claims that they don't shill bid but as I have said before: this boat was at auction on ebay twice and sold both times, then shows up for sale again. I called bent boat and they told me that it has " just arrived " can you imagine ? I spoke to the same person that showed me the boat in person when I went to see it in Hialeah. I asked if there was any major damage and he said " No only minor cosmetic scratches " . BUYER BEWARE!!!
