4.3l gurgling 3800-4k rpm

the other night me and my dad were cruising around, going to a no wake swimming zone to run 2 new radio controlled boats when at around 3800 rpm when trimmed up the engine sounds like it is guzzling, im not sure what is wrong, hence the writing of this post. any help is apprecitaed, thanks, tommy

Was it engine noise? Were you able to repeat it or did the problem go away? Some times weeds or a piece of line can make your prop air out. Some times mistaken for engine sounds.

i could repeat it, it was coming from the back of the boat so i just could have been weeds in the prop, i will check tomorrow.
