When did the factory change the names? In other words, when were the 16's called Ski Sporter and when Sweet Sixteen
Thanks as usual

THEY WERE SKI-SPORTERS WHEN I LEFT AT THE END OF 1967.

My 1965 16 footer was a Ski Sporter. I never heard the term Sweet 16 till quite a few years later.

I think the name sweet 16 was coined when the 16 was reintroduced in the 80s.

Here is what I believe to be the correct answer to the name change.
The 16 was called the SKI-SPORTER till 1980. there were no 16's produced from 1981 till 1989. In late 1989 they reintroduced the 16 and called it the SWEET-16. hope this helps.

Yes it does help. I was inquiring about getting insurance on my 16' 1965 Ski Sporter and the agent said he called Donzi Corp and they told him they didnt make a Ski Sporter in 1965. I really appreciate the information. I have an orig 1967 catalog which shows the 16 as a Ski Sporter not a Sweet 16
