Just purchased a like new 20p Hydromotive Quad IV on ebay for $250. It'll go on my Alpha SS. The Hydromotive site says at 15.5" diameter this is a good prop for raised X-dimension setups. I can get 5200 rpm on my current 19p cleaver but stay under 5000 to be safe. Wouldn't mind if it pulled me down to 4800. Has anyone used one of these? Any ideas what I might expect? (Thought I was done testing props but got bit again).

Thanks,

Murph

ROB!!! Still spending money I see. I liked your Donzi the way it was BEFORE...when I drove her! That cleaver was AWESOME! Never saw a prop throw water up like that! I am sure it will only HELP your performance.

I had to order a new fuel line...mine was kinked  . No wonder I was falling short in the RPM department  . But even so, I was hitting 57 MPH at 4000 RPM. Not bad for an 18 with all stock 350 stuff.

Keep in touch!

Hi the few I have seen have looked to be a very good quaility. I been told the give a little stern lift. Never heard anyone crab about them, looking forward to your private test report.

Broque, my prop says, and I quote, "14 1/4 X 21"

I was told it is the stock prop for my application. I should probably get it <the prop> worked over, as it has a couple of nicks on it, "but if it ain't broke, don't fix it".. wink ..

how the heck can a 21p turn 57 mph
my boat has a 23p and I oonly turn 53 mph.

must be the gear ratio......

just remember gjohns6896,
those small nicks make the prop un balanced, which makes parts of the drive spin off axis..... pretty soon it is not only the prop that needs to be fixed.

Moody are you using GPS? Sure seems like you should be faster, Mike Raynor out here in Mattituck was getting into the mid 60's with a similar setup. keeps breaking my chops about not getting there with my 16. Since I had my 23" Cobra labbed by my buddie I lost a tad of rpm and about 1 mile am hour. Still running the two barrel on a juiced 302 block 351 heads and a bump stick so when I go over to the 600cfm 4 setup I should get back to about 48-4900 which hopefully will get 60. Beast now 58.7 light me and fumes.
