We are staying right here in Cedarville, MI for the 4th. Great small town atmosphere, decent fireworks, and a killer float party!

The Boldts and our Classic will be on a small lake just East of Columbus called Buckeye Lake. They do a fireworks show off one of the islands on the lake. It's not much, but we're in the Donzi enjoying life.

Going up to my parents cabin on small Lake Goodwyn about an hour north of Seattle. It borders a reservation, and is a war zone!! Plus, we've just been running around in the Tahiti up there all year, and some of the punk "wake-board tower" neighbors have been talking smack about our outboard, so looks like it's time to take the bigger dog up there http://www.donzi.net/ubb/wink.gif

I have three packs of sparklers and a few strings of Black Cats. Oh boy, it's going to be goood! If the 4th wasn't on a Wednseday and I didn't have to be on-call, I would head over to Tybee Island near Savanna, Georgia, or to Panama City Beach. There's nothing around here.

Hay Nate, when I lived in St. Pete in the 1980s they used to have fantastic fireworks shows on the 4th down at The Pier. Do they still do that?

Hey Rick, I took the Donzi down to your neck of the woods on Dale Hollow two weekends ago for some camping and boating at Sunset Dock. Had some good entertainment at Moogies. That's one nice lake!

If anyone is on Cumberland (AOTH Flashback), we'll be letting off fireworks at the boat club up Pitman Creek this Sat. 30th and Jamestown will be lighting the sky up the following Sat. 7th.

Hot Damn!! I'm going to Forrest's for the spectacular sparkler show http://www.donzi.net/ubb/wink.gif !!!

Yeah, they still do the deal at the Pier, Clearwater Beach, John's Pass and a handful of beaches up and down the coast. You can catch about 3-4 displays from the roof. I don't have any plans yet, but have already taken Thursday off in anticipation for some 4th. of July tomfoolery http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

Bandit,
I've heard a lot of good about Dale Hollow also. What do you think? Awakening Part II territory? Wouldn't want you guys to get bored with going to the same lake every year. Adds some time to us Northern folks drive, but after Formula Jr. coming from Oregon, we have no place to complain. MadPoddle from Miami, Frank from NJ, George from CT, Todd & Scott from TX, Tony and his wife from MI and of course the VA folks was a hike also. Let me know Midwesterners. Where should we hold AOTH II?

You guys are killin' me!!! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif Yea, Rick, the 'ol Magnum is running fine. Just installed some tunes and I'm ready for the rain to stop! I still need to do some tweeking on the distributor curve to get the engines to idle at 10-degress BTDC with a advance of 32-degrees BTDC. Right now, they idle at about 6-degrees when when set for 32-degrees total. With base timing so low, the throttle plates are open enough at an idle where the idle adjustment screws do very little if anything. It runs way too rich in the very low RPMs. I also need to check the power valves for damange. Other than that it's ready to go!

ScottB., Dale Hollow is very clear with great scenery. It took me 1hr 15min. from Somerset. I was orginally going down to participate in their poker run but it got canceled for lack of interest. I put in early Fri. and hit all the Docks by Sat. evening. Sunset Marina was probably the best one. It has several cabins, a large campground (full) and Moogies bar/grill but the closest hotel was 3-5 miles away in Byrdstown. I'm not sure if they could handle 80+ Donzi's.

There's still a lot of Cumberland on the other end that wasn't explored except by Bryan T. and the VA gang.

Everybody have a safe 4th!

Hey Bandit,
Scott Dabbs and I will be on Cumberland from 7/12-7/17 for our annual houseboat fest out of State Docks. Two boats this year with 25 people. We will be way up Caney Creek, starting Thursday, just inside the ski area in one of the coves on the right hand side. Just look for the crazies with two big houseboats jammed into one cove, Donzis, and chaos in the water. Let's hook up, if you are going to be around. Call me on the cell any time at 817.271.3043. todd

Lokks like I'll be somewhere in the middle of Biscayne Bay.... great view of fireworks from Miami Beach, downtown Miami, Key Biscayne, Miami Shores, and Coconut Grove!

I'll just need to keep a sharp eye out for foreign speaking, intoxicated - idiots... of which there will be many out for one of their tri-annual yachting experiances (Memorial Day/Independance/Labor Day)

Hoping to see the BadPoodle lurking somewhere in the Bay...............

Hey Todd, I'll mark my calendar for the weekend of 7/14 and 15th.

We are having a regatta from our Club to White Oak that weekend so I'll just have to see how it goes.

I've got your number, so if I get a chance to slip down your way, I'll touch base with you.

I'm heading down to 76 Falls early Sat. so I can get a spot in the cove.

It's been packed the last couple weekends with LOTS(*)(*) of sights to see!!!

For everybody else, my door is always open for the Donzi crowd, so just let me know if you're in the neighborhood.

Yep. Rain, rain, rain, and I'm over it. Last year, many fireworks displays were cancled because it was so dry. I think that I'm going to slap the next person around here that tells me that we need the rain. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/mad.gif

Just got back from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront with Stung on his new 288 Sunsation and Tweety Boy on his Scarab. It was great out in the Atlantic ocean tonight. Just took a nice cruise home with the wife. The new boat is awesome. Hope you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday. Talk to you soon.

We actually didn't have rain yesterday - that is none over the Gulf. I filled the X-18 with neighbors and gas and headed out to our local hang-out sand-bar which is three miles south of the St. Marks Lighthouse. There we jumped into the water along with everyone else for a couple of hours, swapped stories with the locals, and watched the lightning crack over the land while there was not a cloud in the sky (over us)! When it was clear to go back up the river, it was a stop a Posey's Topless Oysters (http://community.webshots.com/photo/4518868/4516010mlQhLboxEO) for much needed libations - since we ran out back at the sand bar.

Nate, you missed the sparkler show buddy! It almost got out of control!!!
