View Full Version : Beer Butt Chicken!
Here was the fare for our Fourth of July cookout. Cook it for 2 or 3 hours, indirect low heat, and the beer steams the bird from the inside making the meat unbelievably moist and tasty! Give it a try!

hmmmmm which is better.... bud or mgd.... back to the tastes great - less filling debate i guess!.... indirect low heat translates into??? low burner covered or uncovered???? might have to try this tomorrow!!!!
I set my gas grill to low, and put a pan on the ceramic stones below the grate & bird. Fill the pan with mostly water, and maybe some bbq sauce and some beer. This helps steam the foul, with the heat circling around the pan and not hitting the bird directly. Toss some wood chips in early on for some smoking action. I also baste it with a marinade/butter solution, some people get real elaborate with that.
Here's a site with a recipe (http://www.outofthefryingpan.com/recipes/chicken.beer.butt.shtml) , in case you want to get fancy.
