Hey guys, a friend of mine just came across a 1992 Sweet 16 with 350/Alpha power. The boat is supposed to be in excellent condition, with only 107 hours. Any ideas on what is might be worth? I believe the asking price is $12,000. Thanks, Chris

I just paid 10,300 for a '90 with a cobra 4.2 liter 160 hours, sounds like a deal to me.
Buy it have fun life is short.

What is a 68 sweet sixteen in good condition worth with a recently rebuilt volvo 280 drive and a 302 that needs to be rebuilt?

When you run into a boat that is 33 years old, there is no "off the shelf" answer to that question. You need to do a survey. Check the transom, Balsa Core, Stringers, Gas Tank, wiring and any cored areas. The boat could be worth $7000 pre-rebuild if its show room or it could be worth $800 if there is rot. Trailer?

The little things add up. Original hardware makes or breaks a boat like this. Was the 302 an H/M? Are the Metal scripts on the Hull. Has the chrome been replated. Is it Gelcoat or Paint. Has the boat been altered in any way- one man's improvement is another man's degradation. Does it have rare accesories like a wind shield or the batten and holders. Did it have one owner that kept it out of the water in a garage. Is the interior Built-Rite. You start from the Engine and Outdrive and work up adding Approx values to the boat. Or from a bare hull and see what it would take to bring it up. Then see if your numbers are anywhere near the set price. Most people want too much for a distressed boat and too little for a perfect boat.
