Three footers on Lake Michigan Sunday resulted in some pretty decent air time (a good thing)and some unintentional heavy landings (a bad thing). At home I notice my battery upside down and thrown out of its box, and also some busted up pieces from the vent motor housing!

Any ideas on where I can find this unit, new or used? The motor is fine and still operational, it is just the housing that is toast. Also, while we're at it, what caulk (from West Marine) should I use between the vent and the boat?

You've been a bad, bad boy Tony. Shame on you for mistreating the old lady like that..... :D

That type of vent fan might be unfindable, but I'll look around. You just have to silly con the holes and then re-scew her while wet. wink

I've had some good luck with Marine-Tex on cast pieces like that. It's a 2 part epoxy , if your not familiar with it. After you apply it, take some saran wrap and put it over the epoxy that oozes out of the seam, and smooth it out . When dry, remove the saran wrap, and paint. Should work if you cant find a replacement. Rob

Tony,
same happened to me a week or so ago it broke in half but I managed to get 2 out of the 4 bolts snug, it will be an off season project, I keep you posted on the replacement if one is found
