I have two props that I use with my 22ZX. A Bravo 1 24P that I use for normal boating, and a ski prop. I needed to have a place to mount the unused prop. I don't like drilling holes in my boat so this is what I came up with:

I used the existing motor mount access port:

I cut a piece of stainless using the existing plastic port as a template. I should have used the drill press to drill the mounting holes. Stainless is hard and the hand drill drifted a bit. I later had to elogate three of the holes with an end mill. Then I just drilled a 3/4" hole in the middle of the plate and welded a 6" plated bolt in place:

Then I just screwed it into place:

And this is what it looks like. I also cut a piece of inner tube and put it between the prop and the stainless plate.

Hope it works well. It has plenty of clearance and is easy to get to.

What motor do you have in your boat and how fast does it go with the different props?

I have the 350 Mag Alpha combo. I get a solid 55 mph with the ski prop. It took some fine tuning because the boat likes to cavitate or spin out comming onto plane. I blame the aggesive step for much of that problem I'm lucky to have a great prop guy, this prop is awsome now for skiing and it has incredible mid range torque.

The 24P Bravo 1 works best when I'm not skiing. I get a solid 62 to 65 with a load (gas, anchor, people, etc). I've gone faster with the boat but I've never seen the 70 MPH the factory had posted for a while with that boat. I know I could get a few more MPH with a labbed prop but it just not worth it to me. I plan to install a whipple and upgrade to the Bravo drive if I still have the boat in a few years.

Scubado,
Very nice and sanitary idea! I have one of those yellow plastic emergency props I drag around "just in case" (my Mirage 23p is stainless, has hit plenty of ugly stuff and never been damaged, but...). I think I will use a similar idea for that extra prop of mine!
