Exhaust tips and Quick & Quiet II arrived today...will be cutting holes this evening and need advice on a sealant for hull where hooes are cut.
3M 5200 was suggested for the transom area and then a good silicone once the tips are mounted...what about the screws??
3M's 4200 offers removability later on if needed which the 5200 does not??
Any others??

The tips will receive alot of torque from the engine.

I use machine screws with washers and nuts on the backside.

Seal the screw holes and large exhaust tip holes with 2 part epoxy.

Clean the gelcoat with acetone and seal the flange with 5200.

Mine original tips were sealed under the flange with 5200. That s**t is strong. Took a lot of heat and a lot of patience to remove them. I used 4200 under the flanges on the new ones.

I used marine goop to seal the exaust tips on the transom. you can buy it at home depot in the caulk section. that stuff is really strong too, took two of us to remove one tip the other day.
