hi i'm new to the board and donzi's. This boat was given to me by a friend. the pics look terrible but it has cleaned up real well.He told me it was a holman-moody boat and that made it unique. It's a 1971 with a volve 280 outdrive and a small block chevy.
any help finding parts and upolstery would be appreciated. also any history lessons would be great. Thanks, Tim

Whoa!
Did you find this in someone's barn or something?
This thing looks cool.
It's a keeper for sure.
Scout around on our website and you will find the upholsterer of choice. Its the same guy that made it originally!
Good luck, post some more pictures and register please!

Not bad. A little worse for wear, but it looks pretty complete. If you want some inspiration, look at the before and after pictures from Gene D's 18. His boat looks fantastic, and he had a lot less to work with than this.

What's the hull number? (It should be on that foil tag you can see the edge of in picture #2)

Inspiring?
Yeah, I guess it could be. But I tell you what, the resto practically killed me. 6 months to the day.
When you see photos like this one,

I guess you could get psyched.
When I first looked at this, I was realy excited. By the time I got home, and really gave it a once over, I began to get depressed. It wasn't until I brought the thing over to my buddy's house and everyone began to drool, that I really began to think that this was something very cool.
Then someone called the house and told my friend that he just saw an old Donzi being dragged through Melbourne behind a BMW. Kinda like some sort of spotting network for cool boats!
He was told that it was me and he came over and began to drool too!
You know what really kills me about this picture? Check out the dash. It is total swiss cheese! Then you look at the photos taken after I repaired the dash and wow! It really looks like something.
I think back to those days and wonder how I ever got through it all. Repairing that dash was a pain in the butt!
Thanks for the appreciation!
