Here's a wild hair idea. Though the registry has many of the donzi models, it isn't exhaustive. I propose that a thread be created as a space for collecting photos of all known donzi models so they will be in one place. No chat, just photos and descriptions and see how far we get. The reason I think chat will not work, is the thread will fill up with img pics and will take some time for the browser to pull everything up. We can keep another purely text based companion thread going to reference this one. I guess the only rule needed is no duplicate year/models. So first post gets dibs on that model.
So lets make this thread the text thread. I'll leave it to one of the other members to create and place the first pic in the "Donzi Model Repository (pics)" thread.

Unfortunately Owen all the photos in a thread will not be in one place. They will be in some other location other than the donzi Registry. Why don't you spearhead the collection of photos and descriptions and I will build a page for each model along with specs(colors power/outdrive) and dates of production.

Owen, I was looking back in the Board Archives (http://www.donzi.net/discussion/boardarchive.html) and found this post that I made some time ago. No pics and some models are missing, but I do think that this info will continue to be useful.

The other day I found an old BUC Research Used Boat Price Guide, Vol. III, Summer/Fall 1989 for boats built between 1905 and 1972 . . . The listing is by all means is probably not complete or conclusive. For example there are no listings for the rare Donzi 14, the El Pescidor, or the Sprit. They do however, list a number of boats in the early years as "Baby" as many were actually named back then. Some of the boats may have fallen under the Baby heading by BUC Research. Maybe, with help from the members of this board, an accurate compulation can be built with known original power options. This information could then be added as an addtional web page to this web site.

Am I to believe that my 1967 16' Donzi is actually a "Baby" rather than a Ski Sporter? I am not very happy about this at all!

Naaaa Tony. That's just what BUC listed them as. Check out the ad from the August 1966 Boating News in the archives (http://www.donzi.net/cat/cat66/). In that article, they have the 16 Donzi as named as the Ski-Sporter. But also take a look at the 1966 Donzi catalog. Donzi just refers to it there as the "16 Donzi", not the Ski-Sporter or Sweet 16; however, the 1966 18 Donzi is listed as 18 2+3. No 18 Baby, GeneD.

Does anyone have a newer BUC used boat price book? NADA doesn't cover the really old stuff.
