Nice pic's. I never saw a V-drive Classic. Have seen the larger boats V=driven though. Sure is a good starting point to make a NEAT boat.

I agree, somepeople should stay away from a Sawzaw.

One thing scares me with this boat.
Well, two things actually.
The first is the rubber fuel line going to the carburator.
The second is a Chrysler 383 cubic inch motor in a 16 footer.
Hold on big boy!
Please make sure you have and use a kill switch lanyard? Okay???!!!!???

Cool boat! I've only seen one of the V-Drive Donzi's in person. Back in the early 80's a guy had an 18' Classic with a Hilborn injected big block connected to a V-Drive running on Diamond Lake in S.W. Lower Michigan. The boat was named "Mellow Yellow", and local legend had it that the thing would run well over 100 mph. I can't verify the speed, but for a power hungry teenager those 8 Hilborn stacks sticking thru the engine cover were pretty cool!

Like the tach mount. It reminded me of the Stevens SK boat I was involved with back in the late 60's. We had the same type of mount for the tach. With a flat bottom and a small chop the tach was prettty unreadable after 55 mph, and sort of just a vibrating dot after 100!

ENJOY! rayjay
