Can anyone give me any information about the history of the 22 Classic? I know the story of the 16/18, but just when did the first 22 get popped out of the mold. Who did the design work - was Don A. involved? Was the 22 a strech design of the 18?

I met John Chishom many years back at the New York boat show. He was telling me that the 22 was brought out under his direction. It was an 18 stretched four feet and raised the sides, gunwales, 6 inches. They did that so that the BB chev could fit easier.

John Chisolm related the story at the Orlando event. I think it was '78 when the 22' criterion came out. It was designed as the criterion and built that way for a couple of years. It wasn't until '80 or '81 that the 2+3 came out as a new deck on the criterion hull.
