Here is one near me. Wish I had the time and space for another project. Would be glad to look for someone else.

What do you think one of the 27 Magnums would do with one 600-700 HP big block? I know most of'em were set up for twin SBC's, but I've always thought of one mammoth BBC in there....

Well fellas we have an artist in our midst!
Tommie and I drove by St Marks yesterday and saw Forrest's Magnum. Very Nice!!!!
I especially like the polished round ear props.
Those SBCs must be mighty tight http://www.donzi.net/ubb/eek.gif Forrest do you have to pull the engines to change plugs?
Forrest
We're just here shopping for a couple of days (have you heard of any property?), no time to play.
As always Debbie's shrimp and crab claws are fantastic!!!!

Prop is tuned with cup added and headed south. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

If there were someone out there that wants to buy 007 at a reasonable price before the Magnum goes to someone else, I'll pick that puppy up and make it into an awesome race boat.
Anyone?

PaulO - I would love to see a picture of that puppy. All I got was the description and the price after searching the site.

Nathan - Richie Powers is now building Magnum 27s with a single big block for F1 racing (http://www.magnummarine.com/racing/racing_fr.html), though it may be difficult to sucessfully modify an older twin engine Magnum 27 to a single engine boat since there is an 18" tall keel stringer that you would need big time modification. There are some Magnum 27" running around with a pair of big blocks, but you talk about a tight fit!!!

GeneD without 007?? NO way! Forget it!!!

RickR - Man, you're right in my front yard and didn't even knock on my door!!! What are wee going to do with you? Anyway, I know time is tight when you are looking for property. I did manage to picked up a half bag of oysters from Debbie last Sunday and I must say that they were some of the best of the best . . . big too! I took 'em down to the on-going party on Blue Crab Ln off of Mashes Sands Road where the had some big 'ol shrimp and grouper from My Way Seafood and geezz, the oysters were gone in a hurry. I know that should have bought a full bushel since they're still only $20/bushel.

Hell, I'm glad that someone went to check on my Magnum since I haven't seen it in about four months now. Hay, that thing suppose to be up on a rack that's about 20-feet high! Now just how did you know that the plugs are a @#$% to get at? I better have a talkin' with Randy or Butch or whoever is running the fork lift down there now!

OHHH YEA!! The last of the parts arrived yesterday to start building the new pair of 383s. I'looks better than Christmans in my livinfg room now!! Wheeler Motorsports prepped blocks, cranks, and rods, KB 12cc dish pistons, Dart Iron Eagle heads (64cc), Manley Race-Flow valves, Crane H272-2 camshafts and Crane valve-train components including roller rockers. I'll start off using my Weiand Stealth intakes that I'm now running on the old 350s, but have toying with the idea of trying a pair of single plane intakes. A couple of pair of Stainless Marine exhaust systems are on my wish list. All I need is mo money!

I have a feeling that after the hit I just took from Summit Racing Equipment that no matter how good the special is, my wallet ain't going to like it. But anyway, what is the "special"? You never know . . .

I have not seen a picture of the Magnum nor spoken to the owner. I tried calling once and got an answering machine. I am short on time lately. Has anyone spoken to the owner?? Seano, I finally found a trailer for the cig. Beautiful aluminum I-bean loadmaster that I found in Va. Chris was kind enough to go pick it up for me. Great deal at $1300. I have not seen the boat since I closed the deal. It is in storage inside in Freeport. I know that the gimbal job has been completed though. Can't wait. I will pick it up second week in March. Any ideas who might be willing to blast the old bottom paint off for me?

PaulO,

The trailer deal sounds pretty good...as far as paint stripping goes, try this guy... No-Chem Paint Stripping Inc 929 Lincoln Ave # 3 Holbrook, NY (631) 563-2750

I think he is rather expensive, so if you wan t to save money, you may try and do it yourself...with Peel-Away---which can be found at west marine and the like...lots'o'work though...

PualO,
Congrats on the sale of your Donzi, I think?
Does this mean that your new name is CigO?

PaulO save lots of time and yourself and pay someone who really knows how to remove bottom paint to do the job. It took me two bigs jobs (the Magnum 27 and the '79 Hornet II) before I figured that one out. Those guys may be expensive, but it will be money well spent.

I guess you guys don't realize my desire to get a 27 Magnum is intense. I would agonizingly part with 007 in order to finance the Magnum. Oh, and it should be an SS or forget it! I got a Maltese here in town, and I just don't like the looks.
Boxy, if you are REALLY interested, buzz me over an email with an offer.
But somehow, I think the Magnum will have already been sold by the time I finalize any deal on the 2+3.

Don't worry he wouldn't get her down off the rack OR let me take her for a spin. I didn't try a bribe. Mabe next time http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
BTW I found 3/4 acre on the river above the 319 bridge. Ground was real mushy with lots of cypres trees. Have you had alot of rain lately? http://www.donzi.net/ubb/wink.gif

Sean,
Spoke to the gentleman at No-Chem. Really nice guy, we made a deal should take place in about 3 weeks. I was pleasantly surprised by the price - $395. They do some sort of plastic meadia blasting right in my driveway and clean up too!

By the way - anybody get anywhere with that Magnum?

PaulO

seano

$395 is a bargain! If I recall correctly, the Peel Away is not cheap, so this looks like a home run!

I spoke to a chap who talked to the owner of the Magnum. He should be going to look at it any day now, so I'm waitng to hear back. I don't even know what model it is, but I'm told it was converted from twins to a single big block...I considered tha when repowering mine, but I think some of the hull's integrity wouls be compromised by getting rid of that center stringer...I think Forrest also mentioned something about this...in any event, for the Magnum purist, this wouldn't be a wise purchase...

Forrest

RickR - We haven't seen all that much rain around here lately, but it's going to rain today and all next week . . . Are you talking about 319 near Sopchoppy? Lot of low places over there. I think there are a couple of places for sale off of Mashes Sands road that are either a lot or a house on the ground that needs renovation. That area floods evey time a hurrican gets close, but oh what the heck, the boating and fishing are the best! If were smart, I would buy something down there . . . and I just may do that, too! Next time you are down this way give me a call and I'll ask my buddy Paul who lives on Blue Crab what's available. He always seems to know. Have fun in South Florida!
