I have found a 1990 30' Donzi with dual 454 engines. The boat needs cosmetic work - but seems ok mechanically. Does anyone know about the quality for the year of this boat? Is it a good hull? What kind of speed can I expect? Feedback on a typical price? It will be used to run on the CA delta and perhaps a lake. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks.

My 90 is alot better built than my 95 and I like the King Cobra better than the Bravo.
I heard there were some stringer problems on the Z-33

Is it a Black Widow?

Boatlover, let me know if you get it. Not many of us Donzi guys out here on the Delta, and a 30 footer would be great for Lost Isle runs!

If it is a 1990, it is most likely a "Black Widow." This particular model had a short life, with only 2 or 3 years of production. The boat was basically the old Z-29, with a bulge in the deck in front of the windshield, for improved head room in the cabin. I believe the OMC cobra drives are fine, but I think they used Ford 460 motors that were rated at 365 HP each.

I own a 1987 Z-29, with twin 454 mags and Alpha 1 drives. The boat has a few mods, nose cones, Alum. intake, etc. I am turning Rapture 25 pitch props and have a top speed from 67 to 71 MPH on GPS.

I would guess the black widow speed at 65 MPH. I would guess the price to be around $20K. Don't know of any problems with the boat, other than my personal experience is that boats with OMC power are harder to resell than Mercruiser powered ones. I also believe this 1990 is during the OMC ownership erea.

Per www.nadaguides.com (http://www.nadaguides.com) the 1990 Black Widow rated at 370 hp is listed at high retail - $32,600, avg - $28,100 and low - $23,050.

The 1989 rated at 340 hp is listed at high - $28,500, avg - $24,550 and low $20,150.
