Since my 6 cylinder was smoking and using oil my partner bought a engine for my B'Day.

He says it's a BBC? http://www.donzi.net/ubb/confused.gif It's big black and it's got a bunch of shiny parts, air filter and some big thingies on the side that say Gil on them http://www.donzi.net/ubb/confused.gif Looks awefully big for my 19' Bayliner but he says we wont get passed by Donzis anymore http://www.donzi.net/ubb/rolleyes.gif
A neighbor here in Key West advises against it but he said he'll install it.
The back of the Liner is real soft, should I have it repaired when he puts the engine in?
Will she still float?

Should I use this engine or continue to look for some Forces?Bayliner Owners Club (http://srd.yahoo.com/goo/bayliner/9/*http://www.network54.com/Forum/170041)

Will we be faster than a Donzi??? http://www.donzi.net/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.donzi.net/ubb/tongue.gif http://www.donzi.net/ubb/tongue.gif

I don't see why it won't work . . .

Just Do It!!!

Oh, and by the way, I don't think the soft spots on the floor should be yours or your buddy's primary concern. You guys should be concerned about soft spots elsewhere!

Hay Owen, do you think that you could get "W" to say a few words on this issue?

Speedemon,
Drop it in her and bring that Hot Rod to Lake Cumberland in May. Or better yet, just bring the engine and we'll do an all nighter to drop it in my 18 Classic...

Three Forces-two on the transom and one on the soft floor for parts. All three can be different HP sizes-the parts are interchangeble.I would buy a Bayliner just to have a set of those guages! You are a fortunate man.
I will take that nasty looking old drive off your hands for $50.00 if you will keep the boat!

Speedemon - Stay away from the Force motors. If you want to go outboard, I could recommend some motors but, I vote for the big V-8. Fix up the transom and enlist your neighbor's help for installation. Should be plenty of room as you have the whole back seat area to use.Just build a bigger box over the motor. The boat is big enough to float it. I know a guy who put one of those in an 18 footer that was a much tighter squeeze. http://www.donzi.net/ubb/wink.gif See you at AOTH!
