1978 wasn't the best year for trim switch location. Something about reaching from the throttle to the dash at WOT has always been a bit unsettling. I love the original Donzi/Morse throttle but where do I relocate the trim to?

I mounted my trim switch just above the Donzi/Morse control lever. I can rest my hand on the deck and reach the trim control with my thumb. You don't have to lean forward, reach behind the steering wheel, etc. I will post a photo as soon as I find where I saved it.

Chops,
In a previous thread there was this same discussion, but I’m not sure who mentioned it. There is a trim/tab switch that can be mounted on the steering wheel so you never need to take your hands off the wheel.

PS. It was about a month – 2 months ago.

Found it! http://www.donzi.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001104.html
Looks like BigGriz & the MadPoddle have them.

Mounting the trim switch on the wheel works great provided that you don't have hydraulic steering. The problem with hydraulic steering is that since the hlem unit is just a rotary pump, the steering wheel never positions itself in the same place after making a few turns.

Geoo has a really nifty trim switch on the throttle.

Anyway fpr get tyhe throttle and go with a hot foot gas pedal works 10x better in rough water. Nice to have 2 hands on the wheel.

Cordless...who make that? Sounds neat.

Chops,
At first I installed a steering wheel mounted trim switch. It worked fine until I installed hydraulic steering. Then the cord would get wrapped around the wheel.
Be careful with the two button type of trim switch. I had one mounted on the wheel and hit both button's, at the same time, during a Poker Run and shorted out the main engine fuse. Not Good http://www.donzi.net/ubb/frown.gif
Now, I took a billet trim switch and dremeled out the hole to fit my Morse control. I like to drive with one hand on the throttle and my thumb on the trim.

I love the steering wheel type. I hate the Hot foot in the rough. Every time your leg moves so does the throttle. With my motors this is not good. I am thinking about in stalling a foot trim switch just to try. Its $23 not bad. Ever wonder why Offshore racers have a throttle man, think about it no foot throttle!

GEOO- If your control is the same as '78 I'd like to see that.
Randy- Where did you find a foot trim switch?
