I looked at another 18” Classic today. 1986 model with 270 hours total time. The seller is the second owner and he’s owned it since 1989. It has a 350 Magnum with 260 horsepower, alpha I drive, & 23 pitch prop. Only has two apparent problems that I could see. One: the outdrive trim switch was non-functional for raising the drive. It works for down though. The trailer switch works for raising the drive. The owner says its a sensor on the outdrive that need replacing. (Is this expensive?) Two: the drive position indicator on the dash is non-functional. (Is this expensive?) The boat was very clean and comes with a cockpit cover and a full mooring cover with rope & snaps. It has carpet and the seats are sound. It has a dual battery switch but he does not have a second battery installed. The engine ran well and the engine compartment was very clean. Over all the boat shows really well, it appears he took really good care of it. The only odd thing is the funky exhaust covers on it. They are some type of diffuser to quiet the exhaust. Something from the owners dirt bike days. It also has mufflers in the risers. The owner said he has the original rubber exhaust flappers that could be reinstalled. The asking price is $14,900. Seems a bit too much to me. What do you guys think? All comments are welcome. THANKS!

IMHO better then the last one. Still to pricey though.

I agree, too pricy. I'm thinking in the $11 to 12 thousand range.......

The boat looks really clean and a stainless wind shield frame is rare on 18s, but Chris is right about the price. There is a supper clean 1999 or 2000 not sure with a 350mag 300 hp and a really nice trailer for sale on this site in the 18,000 range, more than worth the extra few grand. Check it out.

That boat might be worth 12-13 if Everything worked. BUT since it does not I would only offer 11k.

You need to keep in mind that after you buy it, something WILL break. The owner will not be pulling a fast one. Its a used boat. It happens.

I bought mine and realized when I got it the seat platforms for shot. 2 weeks and 100 bucks later I was in the water.

3 weeks later I was pulling an outdrive for an impellor that died. All this on a 1995 model.

The moral to the story; buy something with everything working.
