Anyone possibly need carpet for 16, 18, or 22 classic at a good price?
Post it here.
Can someone who has carpet already in their 116 make me a pattern?.
I have something working that everyone might be of interest to most everyone.

Has anyone gotten a quote on carpet for their boat? How much was it? What does Donzi Charge?

Thanks for your help!

I would love a red cockpit carpet for my 18 at a good price. I also have a factory Donzi grey carpet set that could be used for a pattern on an 18.

Scot, I just received more than enough (6x4) piece of 40oz.marine backed-40mph,red carpet.
Cost for carpet and shipping ...$95.00
I need to cut it and then have it bound. If thats a good price for the carpet alone, I'd be happy to share the source.

I think I paid about $400 for my carpet from Donzi... However, the key to a nice carpet is in how nicelyt it is bound.... prior to spending the cash with DOnzi I spent $250 on a POS carpet... what a waste...

Woodsy Von Donzi :D :D

PS: a cool yellow to match my boat would be nice... especially if you could get it with
the Donzi Logo....

Hi all:

Recently replaced the snap on carpet in my 91 18 2+3. Underneath the factory carpet, I found the name: Auqa-Mat, R & R Textiles, Chatworth, GA.

http://www.rrtextiles.com/html/marine.html

They were the OEM during the OMC years, have patterns etc. Several different "plush styles" to choose from. As I recall the best for an 18, sending my old in as a template, was approx. $ 250.00. Not cheap, but it did have the "DONZI" logo sewn in. Exceptional quality, and great personal service. Takes about 2 to 3 weeks, If I remember right, ask for either Betty or Linda, and they will fix you up. Additionally, they will be happy to mail samples of various colors and weights for your examination.

Although they were the factory source, their patterns will not reflect the locations of the "snaps", as this I assume was somewhat arbitrary at the factory. If you want the snaps installed, you must do ity yourself. Again, overall best quality, price, selection, and speed.

Interesting...my '92 18 with OMC equipment does NOT have the snaps in the carpet, and oh I wish it did! It slides all over the place, especially with more than two people aboard.

I would be interested in purchasing new carpet, too. Mine is grey now, with Donzi on it, but I think red would be bad-ass, to match my stripe!

Can't get an answer from Donzi on a carpet price, carpet kits are not an over the counter item. I would be real interested in navy blue for my 85 port helm 2 + 3. Count me in.

Scott, I am interested in red carpet for a 20' Minx. Earlier post is correct,
the original bound edges and carpet weight make the difference.
Thanks.

I'm interested. I'd need to be able to specify a custom cut (no seat base cutout) since I've replaced the stock molded-in seat bases with with Garelick pedestal slide/swivels.

Classic 22 size.

I would be interested in carpet as well. I have contacted Donzi to no avail for a new RED QUALITY carpet for our 30' Black Widow.
I have also contacted R & R Textiles (see Tailwind's reply earlier) and the Aqua Mat is great quality, the binding is top notch and the backing is a heavy rubber. They even have a sample pic of "Donzi" embroidered on a carpet in their brochure. The only reason that I haven't pursued it is I wanted to check out other suppliers but haven't had any luck....oh yeah and it is American dollars which is almost 2 of my Canadian ones. I'll watch for the news on this possible source.

I have a 1968 2 + 3 and would like a black carpet
no snaps with yellow DONZI logo.I tried a place in Georgia last winter that led me on for about six weeks with calls then they called and said they didn't have the pattern after all.At the time my boat was winter wrapped so I never sent them a pattern. I believe the price was $275.00 with logo.

Good / Bad news:

Good first: R & R Textiles, Chatsworth, GA were the OEM supplier for many years, Quality second to none. Customer satisfaction, deliverly, and overall rating would really place them over the top, hands down. Only reason I replaced my 1991 "18", was because it was showing a slightest bit of wear (around the DONZI logo), and wanted a more show carpet rather than anything else. Will post before and after pics accordingly.

They will insist that you send your old carpet for exact fit and measurement, knowing that perhaps subtle changes were made even during a given production year. After looking back, wish I had ordered 2 sets, one for now and one for sale time if that will ever occur? Turn around time for a new carpet set was approx. 2 weeks. Mine was delivered in less, at a total cost of around $300.00 including the DONZI emblem (shipping for the old and new included).

BAD: They will not position and include the "snaps", as this again did perhaps vary during assembly. Additionally, and this is maybe the most important, there is no cut out provided for our built in DONZI coolers between the seats. With a bit of drawing, and pattern forming, this certainly can and will be realized.

Personally, am very critical of quality control issues, and will challenge anyone to find a better or more satisfatory replacement carpet for our DONZIs, and no I dont work for them.

Independant of this thread I had contacted Bilt-rite (they used to make the interiors) regarding a new canopy, they make them with stripes! - anyhow I also inquired about carpeting, he said they will be offering replacment carpet for 295.00. He said he would e-mail me when they were closer to having them available. I did NOT ask about the DONZI lettring - I guess I assumed that was part of the deal.

WELL SINCE FASTFRANKY LET IT OUT OF THE BAG....

Bilt Rite is the reason I posted this thread. They are gauging interest IN CARPET. I will have pricing for you shortly.
