Can you use a solid hub prop on an alpha drive?
I was told it would damage the gears? What do you think?

The whole idea of a solid hub is strength for a motor that has enough power\torque to spin a conventional rubber hub. Spin meaning strip, basically. If your motor has enough torque that it needs a solid hub, there is no way it should be mated to an alpha. Depending who you choose to belive, an alpha can handle between 320 and 400 hp. Depending on how you treat it. Youll only damage the gears if you hit something, because itll have no "give". Kind of like a shear pin on an outboard. Theory being if hit something, its cheaper to replace the prob\hub than an lower unit.
