18 months later...and we got her running last night! After sorting out the last of the wiring issues it was too dark to put her on the water...can't wait! The fellow in the picture is Mark, he did all the glass work and paint. He came up from Florida to help me sort her. This could not have happened with out him. The motors are 351 W's Holman Moody. The dyno put the starboard motor at 352 hp at 5200 RPM, the port motor is 349 hp at 5200 RPM(it must be the non matching spark plug wires.) The only thing left that is not working on the whole boat is the port tach and the engine syncronizer. Mot bad for a 70' model. Now for the propping and rebuilding the trailer. The big black lump on the tongue is a steel weight. That's how much it took to have an acceptable tongue weight. I could move the axles back about 6 more inches, but then I will have to go past a cross member. Well anyway you know how it goes. Rick

That is simply awesome! The color choice is perfect. Love the original trailer. The twins look great, should be quite a runner. I would love to see more pics of the interior. Fantastic job!

Beautiful job! Did you reinforce the transom, or is that normal for the GT-21? Good luck on the maiden voyage

Weak, dizzy, can't talk... :)

I think that's the most perfect Donzi I've ever seen! That engine compartment with TWO 351W's! The log-style manifolds... original type flame arrestors.... it's almost too beautiful for words! So correct...

Very well done! :D

How about a shot of those Volvo's?

As you know, I've been kicking myself for a few years for not pursuing your boat when you had it for sale a few years ago.....but I must say, I would have never been able to do as nice a job as you did!! That thing is perfect. :D

Congrats on owning the boat the boat I have always wanted :D :D

Rick Congrats !! :) :)

Shakespeare would be lost for words. I'll just say "Excellent Job" You turn the clock back to yesteryear!! happy_bi

Ps.

Instead of moving the axle back you might get enough tong weight by moving the trailer bow support forward a few inches that I see you have left allowing the same for the boat.

Best wishes,

Walt...

You can change the center tongue extension tube for one about a foot longer, move over your hardware, and slide the boat fwd as you see fit. I just did this on my Minx trailer and it was a HUGE improvement in stability and manuvering.

Thank you guys very much. The paint that we used is Sterling. The color is as close to original as we could get. The transom was rebuilt a little heavier with 3 layers of heavy bidirectional biax and then 2 layers of matte on the inside and one cosmetic skin layer of matte in the ouside of the transom. The fuel lines are temporary. Waiting on some prop spinners to put on a pair of long hub Hill 24p four blade cleavers. In the mean time my 26p 3 blades are getting rebuilt,I will break her in with some 19 P 3 blade volvo props. Thought we should start out gentle. Have a super weekend. Rick wink
