There was an article on a 16 that had the Yanmar 4 clyinder in it, cruised 33mph and range increased fro 90 miles to near 300 on 30gal tank. URL below:

I saw that boat at the 2000 donzi owners rally in Orlando. Looked cool, but I have a hard time getting over the sound....

Big puff of black smoke and cyclops exhaust is strange too

Richard Mastry said you could cruise FOREVER on a tank of diesel :D

I read a test in Power Boat on the Yanmar 22, the only way it could do 75 mph is on a trailer. 80 mph are you serious, the test results I read were in the the low 60's, 315 hp dose not translate into 75 mph let alone 80. Donzi only built a hand full test boats and some for export. Who wants a sail boat motor in a 22 Classic anyway. As I recall it had one exhaust tip.

Barry,

The Powerboat test was conducted soon after the 1st installation. There was a lot of testing and some modifications that increased the speed considerably of that boat, including raising the outdrive.

Ted is correct on the speed.
