Can anyone suggest a supplier for a pair of engine hatch struts (18), my hatch rests on the aft eye, and is starting to crack.

Poodle, thanks, my next question would have been dimensions.

I'd eventually like to convert my engine hatch prop stick to a set of struts like the newer boats use. I followed the basic idea of what Poodle was saying above, but not the specifics.
Could someone that's done this conversion to gas struts post a few pictures of their nice solution to this task?

Thanks, Don Banfield

Surf,

The length will depend on how you mount them ratio wise.

I used the 12" compressed by 20" extended = 20 lbs ea.
