350 HP Scorpion package. Thats what my Donzi brochure says. It would be easy to get another 27hp to make 377.

Hyper, your last assumption was correct, the 377 is the c.i. That is what you get with a 400 crank and a stock bore sbc. If you punch it out 30thousands you get a 383, another 30 and you get a 388 cu.in. When I finish my 18' hopefully in the not to distant future the 388 is what I will be putting in there.

Hyper,
The Scorpion motor has been around for 5 model years now. Originally there were two different horsepower ratings depending on whether you had a shaft drive or outdrive. The shaft drive was rated at 350 HP (ski boaters choice) and the outdrive version was rated at 340 HP. Don't know why the difference in the rating as all motor specs were otherwise identical. Many boat manufacturers advertised all sorts of different horsepower ratings for that motor. Donzi even had it listed as 377 HP in the original 2001 literature
Last year, the motor had only one advertised rating of 350 HP (Mercury literature).
The link above is relatively new. Mercury has decided to up the ante again. And why not?
As for the horsepower rating on the 22ZX, keep in mind that specific model is a "spec" boat and that almost everything is standard and almost no options. It is Donzi's low cost leader entry-level boat and it is built to a price. I would be surprised if it actually had a Scorpion package for 2004, but I haven't seen the new brochures, yet.
