If you could give me a little more info, I could probably take a shot at it.....
What is your shoreline like...
Can it be left in off season, or does it have to be removed...
How high do you have to lift the boat, is it affected by tide changes....
Do you have access to power...
Is your dock sheltered, or exposed to waves, and wakes...

Let Me Take a Shot. Yes, Exposed to Wakes and Winds. I'm on the Bay in So. Jersey. Will Be Leaving it in All Year. Looking for the Type You Mount on 4 Pilings. Power is Out There. Each Slip Has 60Amp Service. Two Tide Changes a Day. Like to Keep the Boat about three feet above the water.
Thanx!!!

Provided that you have deep enough water at low tide, a four post cradle lift is the way to go. With a four pile cradle lift, you can keep the boat 10-feet out of the water if you wish (keeps kids out of your boat while you are not there). Just have four piles driven and install it yourself. It's not difficult. Be sure to get a lift built of aluminum for salt water. I recommend a belt-drive system, as opposed to direct drive or chain drive. Good ones are built by ABL (http://www.ablboatlifts.com/), IMM (http://www.immboatlifts.com/), Hi-Tide (http://www.hitideboatlifts.com/) and others. If you want a good lift for a lot less money than from the companies listed above, check out Quality Aluminum Products (http://www.qualityaluminumboatlifts.com)(QAP) boat-lifts in Pensacola, FL. You definitely get a lot of bang-for-the-buck with QAP.

Also, make sure that your get all the proper permits before driving the first pile.

Be sure to check out a new style lift made by hi-tide, called Topless. It has the pulleys mounted to the 4 poles, the motors are both on the dock side, and best of all there are no beams to climb over. Saw my first one today, nice.
