Oh, you know that I'll be there with my '72 16 . . . that is if John Harmon ever finishes restoring my original drivers seat. The cushions are done. If not, I may bring the '77 X-18. Right now, it only has 30 minutes of cam break-in time on the new 383. . . and it sounds great! I'm trying for a test run this weekend, but I still have a few left to things to do, mostly to the boat's wiring. Unfortunatly, I still have to do the 'ol 8:30 to 5:30 thing, too, which keeps the pace at a crawl.

Folks, I know that we have more boats coming based or the posts from the previous thread (http://www.donzi.net/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000348.html). Edie will be getting in contact with Nick and/or Mike Miller in the next couple of days to talk about some activities and for that reason, an accurate count would be beneficial to those discussions. Edie, Emmo, and myself, have discussed some possible activities such as a Donzi cocktail party reception at the Lakepoint Resort Lodge. We also want to included a check-in package to include a basic itinerary, a chart and notices of the local inlet to Lakepoint, name tags for the reception, and whatever Donzi wants to include.

One possible itinerary event could include a Donzi run northbound to some destination such as Columbus, GA, and another run on Sunday south towards the dam with stops in between. As always, the activities of this Donzi get together will be decided by all who attend, not just me or Emmo. Nothing is set in stone, and for that reason your input to the itinerary is very important. For example, if some folks don't want to make a long run, there are plenty of beautiful short-run destinations near the Lakepoint Resort. We can do those short runs and/or both runs. Also, the boat ramps at Lakepoint, which are free for guests, are first class, and there is dockage available at the marina for a small fee. There is also a free, twelve slip first-come, first-serve dock directly in front of the lodge, but usually half of those slips will have some sort of bass boat already parked there at almost anytime. Also, there is a stump or something that everyone seems to bump into lightly when approaching those slips, and with the water lower this year, you may be able to see just what it is that everyone seems to hit. I for one will probably pull my Donzi out of the water at night and keep it in the well lit parking lot directly in front of the rooms.

So far, I read that we have the following folks coming the Second Annual Donzi Get Together at Lake Eufaula over the Labor Day Weekend:

Hotboat 1980 18 2+3
Emmo '70 18 2+3 (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=162)
Forrest '77 X-18 or '72 16 Ski Sporter (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=65)
GeneS '73 X-18 (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=188)
Tom on Lanier '96 22' 2+3 (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=277)
Bill Bateman 1990 16 (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=377)
Barb& Randy Carabelli Corsican or Criterian (http://www.donzi.net/hull.cfm?id=375)
Varyak 2001 18 2+3 (wow! that Donzi is not even new yet!!!)

Aw com'mon guys I know that more Donzi folks are coming to the Lakepoint Resort State Park (http://www.dcnr.state.al.us/parks/lakepoint_1a.html) on Lake Eufaula (http://www.fishconnect.com/State/AL/Eufaula/eufaula.htm). Let us know who you are! Emmo, can you add to the list?

Also, if you don't want to post here, send me some email at mailto:forrest@unr.netforrest@unr.net</A>

Well, I know everybody is tired of posting their intention to be there but Edie will be making name tags based on my design from Orlando. Please email me with the names that you want displayed on yours and your companions.

Mark Laszlo (Varyak) and Heather Ashley will be there.
Bigger news is my 2001 18 (with the new 6.2) arrived yesterday. The rigger said he LOAFED along at over 70mph at just under 4000 RPM (25 prop)Thinks maybe high 70's will be achievable within a couple weeks break-in. I'm going to try to put some break-in hours on it this weekend to we can give it a go at the lake. Name for this boat - Last Tango.

HI GUYS NEED SOME HELP, I CAN'T MAKE THE CHOICE BETWEEN THE CRITERION OR THE CORSICAN. WIFE AND SONS WON'T HELP. THE CORSICAN HAS THE SOUND (CMI SPORT TUBE HEADERS) AND THE CRITERION HAS THE ROOM. HANDLING IS AS DESCRIBED IN THE 22 vs. 18 POST EARLIER. SO WHICH ONE SHOULD I BRING TO EUFAULA?

Bring the Criterion. I tried for 2 weeks to get to TAL to look at the boat. Unfortunately for me, you got there first. I would certainly like to see it and take a ride if only to see what I missed. I understand it is very nice. If you ever want to sell it, please let me know. Thanks

Criterion...
More room for the significant others in your group. Of course, I've never seen one...
but then again the Corsican is a beauty too.
Don't talk to me, I have an engine to repair to do in Melbourne, FLA next week. And right now, I'm still in Philadelphia. I'll be at the strip on tomorrow if anyone is interested. I'll be the really intoxicated guy in the Donzi shirt.

Hotboat,
Looks like you're winning two to one. Wife is even leaning in your direction. As to the ride in "My Damn Donzi", you got it. Here or there.
I only have three days to decide, so come on guys, help me out. For this I will give you the real scoop on reversion. For three years I played swap the cam every weekend. Some cams I designed, some they designed. Overlap from mild to wild. Whatever it is, I've probably tried it, including different exhaust systems.

Bret, Lake Eufaula is down in lower Alabama. We will be at the Lakepoint Resort State Park which is just north of the city of Eufaula, AL.

Hook up that Donzi, grab a road map, and come on down!

If anyone needs a room, contact the Lodge. I just had to cancel my reservation. I am going to be unable to attend at the last minute.
