Looks like a 280 or 280 T. Although it could be a 290. You can't tell from the picture, as the add on trim fin obscures the view of any hydraulic trim cylinders.

I have a 290, and it looks different. It has a rubber insert toward the top of the housing.

thanks for the info. I am sure this has been discussed ad nauseum but can this drive, which is not trimmable, be converted to a trim drive.

That is definitely a 280 Based on the exhaust in the cavitation plate and has a body like a 270

Side shot would be easier to tell. This setup looks 'zackly like mine-270 collar and drive w/290 lower unit.Or it could be a 275.
275,280,290 all had wide anticav plate like this pic.If you gonna buy this boat-get rid of that Doelfin!!!

As an old Volvo Penta guy - it looks to me that it is an old style transom shield (250,270... with the carriage bolts going all the way thru) and a later style drive with the exhaust exiting thru the flat anti-ventilation plate. Is the number plate still on the top of the drive, just in front of the dip stick? It should have the serial number, model number and a letter for ratio.

Also, remove that dole-fin! All it will do is put greater strain on the pivot pins!
