Guys,

You are all going to get sick of my familiar topic however...I really want to get my 22 classic refinished. I got some great responses to paint product questions. Now if anyone knows of a place that can do the spray work that would be Huge! I want to get going so the finish has time to harden by Memorial Day!

the finish will cure in less then a week if done right. Temp. is a big problem. Has to be above 65 or the cureing process stops.

Thanks Scott. That's great advice. I see you're in NJ...Do you know a shop where I might be able to get the work done?

Sorry, there really isn't that may shops that will take a project like that on. If they do it will be big bucks.

New England Fiberglass Repair (in Danbury) gave me an estimate to paint a Donzi 16 as follows:
1. Refinish Deck $2320.
-remove and reinstall fittings
-spray on three coats epoxy primer
-spray deck two tone, any colors
-all materials
2. Refinish cockpit $1160. same as above
3. Refinish Hull $2160 same as above
4. Optional 3 Coats of Clear $720.
5. Reletter Hull - additional

I have heard they have a good reputation but have not seen their work. Hope this helps. Call them at 203-866-1690 if interested.

John, TBran,
I live in Fairfield, CT. I had similar quotes on my X-18 Donzi. However my boat is painted and the paint would have to be striped. GEOO

What kind of paint are we talking about?

OUCH I thought the $1200 I spent on materials was bad. Geoo I told you when you are ready to spray your boat and will do it for materials.

Thanks Chris,
I'm not ready this year. I got a quote last winter for +,- $ 6,50000. I think it might be more cost effective to paint it ourselves one year. Still working on the mechanics of the boat. Once I get it running perfectly then I'll paint her. GEOO
