Sutphen/Donzi?

I am in the middle of buying this boat off of a guy in New York. :) He is telling me that it is a Sutphen /Donzi. He said that in 1971 Sutphen, and Donzi merged. I dont know what to believe. Is this true? The boat is a 1971, 19 foot. and has a 400 sb. chevy dynoed at
396hp. how fast should this boat be moving.
