oh mr habbamasta, what size do you generally make the avatars?

I was playing with it earlier guys and i did the tony thing then i resized it small and it got blurry as would be expected and it did like yours owen, just stacked it upon the existing one that scot was kind enough to give me.

Owen,

I'll take ya up on your offer...or I could try it myself with instructions. Like, how to switch it to gif, and, like Jamie, how to avoid the loss of resolution when resizing. THANKS!

I love the one Scot made for me also, so I saved its location if I want to revert to it later. I kinda like both anyway. The Henry Avatar is 85 (across) by 110 pixles (down). A gif with 256 colors looks good and is fairly small.

Tony. I have disabled your avatar creating privledges for 12 hours as punishment for that large avatar. :D

Remember everyone. Make your avatar the correct size and look before choosing it. It needs to be small. Not all photos look small, so choose your avayar according. Maximum size I would like everyone to adhere to is basically what Formula Jr said. 85 (across) by 110 pixles (down). It does not have to be perfectly that size, just close. Have Fun!

Craig...that is awesome, and perfect...you are the best! Trouble now is, I've screwed with this thing so much tonight that the administrator has "removed permission to select my own avater".

I assume it's temporary, and asap I will copy the properties of your creation and install it as my avater. THANKS AGAIN!

I used Paint Shop Pro 5, it's easy to use and it resizes fairly decent without too much of that distortion look. Plus, it is a demo version that I got to work permanently :D .
