Well most know my mechanical status at the moment, I am curious about a few things.
1. In Neutral is the shaft on drive/and coupler spinning?
2. I am told the upper is alway the weak link in a Bravo I?
3. Thoughts on Reman vice new if I get a whole new upper?
4. Is realiability questionable if I am forced in a rebuild repair? I would think labor would out way cost of a new drive?
5. Does the new Bravo HP (X) with the new dual water pick ups and beafier stuff bolt to the same transom assembly?

When the engine is running the drive shaft spins unless the coupler had failed. :(
Cone clutch and linkage are in upper gearcase.

You can inspect the upper gears easily by

Drain >1QT gear lube.
Remove 3 bolts on rear cover.
Cover has O-rings and is easily replaced, bolts require 20 ft/lbs (relube detent ball and spring before reassembly).

Gears rotate in opposite directions when crankshaft rotates.
