View Full Version : Put Your Donzi in a Movie!

Donzi Marine VP

Hello from Sarasota!

As most of you are aware we are very active when it comes to placing our boats in feature films and television. In most cases when I recieve the calls from the production companies we use boats that we have or pull from our dealer network. IN some caes though we do not have the boat they need or our dealers are sold out of that particular model.

With that being said I am offering to all of our Donzi owners the opportunity to put your name and boat model on a list of owners that would enjoy placing thier own boat in a movie or TV show.

Most boats are used for only a couple of days. Sometimes the shoot can take longer (which simply means more screen time for your Donzi).

You will be able to stay with the boat if you desire at all times with the exception of when the stars are running the boat during filming. Prior to any stars running the boat you will have spent time with them showing them the proper procedures.

The production company or Donzi will pay all of your expenses. There is no payment to you or to Donzi for use of the boat, as the benefit to you and to Donzi is the exposure.

The movies and shows are shot all across the US with most of them being done in Miami, Los Angeles and New York.

Please let me know if any of you are interested. I need your name, boat model, and daytime telephone number.

We have a great time doing this movie stuff and we thought that you might enjoy hanging out with some movie stars!!

Nick,

Looks like you already have a couple 22 Classics signed up, but to watch a movie and say that is my Donzi in the flick is awfully tempting. Not sure about some movie person driving it. (Jason Priestly in the world of Offshore racing! eek! eek! ) How-ever, Bill Russell in a 22 Classic pulling up to the Drug Lord's yacht in Miami Vice was very cool!

Nick, aren't you just concentrating on current model year boats? Of course an escape sequence where Bond - or who ever - gets in Geoo's boat and outruns a helicopter would be too cool for words......

Opening sequence:

Bond's accommodated row boat pulls up to Geoo while he, an his wife, Heather are sun bathing.

"Hello My name is Bond. James Bond. And I was wondering if I might get a lift to those islands over there?"

Just now a 50's style Bell helicopter appears and strafes the area with small arms fire. And then arcs off for another pass.

Un-fluttered Geoo starts handing out goggles and vests.

"We have to get out of here NOW!" Demands Bond.

"Now, look here Mr. Bond. I have certain protocals. And you just interrupted our vacation, so shut your trap and put on the googles and the vest." "Heather sweetie. Looks like we may need to tweak her some, can you get the port ready." Heather whips out a Lap Top (AN APPLE TITANIUM iBook) and plugs the USB in to a special port and the engine stat. program loads instantly. Both Heather and Geoo strap on headsets. Mighty Mouse fires up. The camera pans across all the gauges. The program highlights all the engine functions. Geoo taps the boost gauge while sipping a Pepsi and then stuffs the throttle. The chopper has circled back and is now right behind them for another strafe run....... But is blinded by the huge rooster tail from Mighty Mouse that coveres the chopper's windscreen with water. The terrorists are nearly killed by this as they just touch down on the water with the skegs. They break off and fly high.

"If I live, I will burn that burka Jaccaman must wear." Says one of the terriorists named "Asseid".

Mighty Mouse is now starting to come on plane. Heather is reading off numbers from the program as Geoo pushes the throttle. The camera focuses on Bond's face as the GPS Speedo passes 90. His eyes roll. The boat is now air-born riding on rails.

"Do all you Yanks have boats like this?" Asks Bond, over the wind.

"No! Just Donzi Owners!" Shouts Geoo.

The chopper is dropping down now after the water has wind sheered off the bubble. Trying to make another pass.

"Where are we at?" Geoo (intercom).

"We can push the boost!, make her richer! and then step up the advance!" Heather (intercom).

"Oky. Lets Do it!" Geoo. (intercom).

The cheeks are now flapping in Bond's face. He is wide eyed and about to piss himself. He turns to Geoo and Heather with a look of disbelief.

The X-18 is now flying and the speedo is reading 98, 100, thrust ....120...... The helicopter is dissappering in the back ground till its just a speck and can't be seen any more.

Bond jumps off at a dock in a little harbor. "Will you be oky?," says, Bond. "Oh don't worry, we have to do this for the USGC all the time." And then they quickly apply "Bayliner" scripts to the hull and Geoo puts on a sympathetic pregnancy prosthesis and a wig..

Back at the hovering helicopter: they have lost the chase. The leader is shouting that they have failed and must martyr themselves.

Asseid, "Sorry guys but I think I need a little real loving, not this virgin promise crap!" He jams one of the controls and then jumps out of the chopper. Which then explodes after it hits the water.

Cut Away.

Bond is back at MI6 and (Q) John Clease is talking about the newest spy boats.

"I think you should contact a fellow in the States, Q, on that one......."

:D :D

Man they sure picked the right group of guys for this job. We can take anything they throw at us due to our extensive expertise in boat reconstruction and maintenance... We are experts in:

a) Fiberglass repair. 50 mm slugs don't leave clean holes in fiberglass, so the repairs should hold pretty well.
b) Carpet cleaning. We all know the fake blood used to dramatize the scene where the driver gets decapitated won't stain if you remove it right away.
c) Sanding & buffing. Have you ever seen a boat chase where they didn't jump at least 3 sand bars?
d) Gel-coat/paint matching. As long as the guy handling the flame thrower doesn't get carried away it shouldn't be much worse than resurrecting a barrel-back.
e)Lower unit replacement. Cause going over -vs- under bridges can be a bitch.

Make my day!

Count me in. red and white 16. 239-592-7566. Do we get get free beer while the filming is going on? I think if they are gonna do a 007 movie that we have to get Nate in on there somewhere. Maybe have Dale flying upside down right over Nate in a chase scene. Digger can fly the safety helicopter and I will be the rescue diver.
