Oggling at Clayman's pics. Noticed the lack of external flaps on the exhaust. I've got both internal and external flaps on 4" straight cut exhaust on my '97 18 classic. Is it prudent to take off the rubber flaps for a cool look?

Probably depends on your tips. My stock tips had the cheap rubber internal flaps. I blew the port side right out. I now run the stainless marine tips with internal flaps only.

I've got stainless internal flaps that appear to seal quite well. Didn't know they made rubber internal flaps.

My stock flaps were a rubber "Y" that was hooked to a pin going across. They seal well until you blow one or both out.
