I want to put tabs on my 18' 2+3 that I'm restoring.
I was originally planning on putting the K-Plane 150s which are approx 12"x12", But I like the Dana Marine product better. The only problem is their 900 series is overal about 18" long. It start out 12" wide and tapers to about 9" at the end.

Is this too long for the 18 classic? Are there any associated problems or benefits with the tabs being this length?

Thanks.

If you have Bennett tabs currently, there is a guy that is making K plane looking replacements that fit the Bennetts. Check it out at

I don't have any tabs as of yet.
I am not crazy about the Bennetts. The Bennett tabs realy only work in one direction which is the down direction. They are spring loaded in the up direction.
The only thing I like about the Bennetts is their price.

I just measured the K planes on my 302 Formula. They are 17 inches long, 13.5 inches wide at the transom, narrowing to 6.5 on the other end. I don't know what model they are.

Cuda,
Thanks.
Your boat surely has a nice ass! :D
By those measurements, I would guess the 12x12 K-Planes would be the proper tab to go with on the 18. Unfortunately Dana doesn't make a smaller tab.
