Cool cockpit cover...interesting hatch.
Unsure how I feel about the color...it's definitely unique, though!

Wow! A big block, iron exhausts, and TRS with a transmission. Talk about weight and a tight fit! I'm about ready to ditch my TRS setup in my X-18 running a small-block and aluminum/stainless GIL exhaust in favor of a Volvo SX since the TRS drive/transmission is way heavier than anything else out there. On the other hand though, you can't beat the reilability of a TRS (and I really don't look forward to glassing up the TRS transom cutout).

Forrest,

Is it just me or does that look Brown...

I also noticed the hood scoop(s) and the padded inner cockpit liner.

Yea Chris, upon close examination, it's '70's "Earth Tone" brown and beige. This PC screen made it look black until I red the description and clicked to "supersize".

The place that is selling this boat is less than three miles from where I live and work. In fact is is the same place where I bought my DeLorean from. If anyone would like me to go look at it for them let me know. You can call me on my cell at 248.219.4997 or email me at brad@birmingham-hydraulics.com

-----This 2+3 has some of the ear-marks of an original big-block 18,but not all. There were only six built according to John Chisholm back in the day.
-----Those exaust manifolds are from that era,and the 2+3 did need a crazy hatch, but that hatch looks different than the only other 2+3 original big-block I ever saw.It was on the dealer floor in Chicago in 1978 next to the big-block X18 that I bought, and was blue and honey.
-----The water pick-up is in the right location but the boat may have started out as a small-block TRS.The big-block was way easier to stuff under the hatch of an X18,but still needed a small scoop on the hatch.Had they ever built a big-block,TRS Corsican it would have been a slam-dunk,but they didnt(but I can dream, cant I).
-----I know a TRS package is heavy, but there are other trade-offs that(IMHO)make keeping the TRS set-up worth while.
-----The place selling this 2+3 will know nothing about it.They are car-brokers,and,even though this is Detroit,I really doubt they can answer any question other than what color it is correctly. One or more of us will have to go over there and give this boat a look-see because if it is an original big-block it is one rare puppy!!!!!!!!!!!!............Bill S

--------P.S.....Just remembered that I noticed it was left-hand drive.Unusual, huh Poodle!

Well, the big block has left warm and sunny Detroit for cold and windy Virginia!!!! After the E Bay auction I made a offer and we went back and forth for a couple of weeks until we reached an agreement. Many thanks to Classic Auto Showplace for handling the transaction in a professional manner. Supposedly this Donzi was special orderd from the factory with the 330 TRS and then built up. Looks original up close, but I am no expert, but ya gotta love a big block in a 18 :D . Anyway, if Smith Mountain Lake is not frozen over this Saturday, eek! I will get wet for the first time in 20 years  As always I find this is a great sight and I would not have had the guts to go through with this without the information available here. Many thanks :) Greg G

Greg-

Congrats on the sweet new ride, it looks like a cool rig that'll deliver the Donzi grins. Have fun on the maiden voyage and be sure to bring her to an event or two so we can see her in person.

Great find! Bring it down here to Florida to try it out! Just stay away from from the Miami area. There seems to be a gravitational pull that rare Donzis seemed to get sucked into down that way.

Oh hell, X-18, 2+3, brown, black . . . WTF, it's still a Donzi - so congrats anyway to N2, even though it's not a f---in' X-18!

Hay Ted, thanks but you can't pull that one on me! I can tell that's a 17 Boston Whaler with a 90 horse Johnson, dude. eek!
