Help, I was out in my boat today and I had a spark plug get blown apart. I was running at about 3800 - 4000RPMs when I heard a sound almost like an exhaust leak. I slowed down a shut off the motors. I looked in my blige and one of my plug wires was laying in the bilge. I reached under the manifold and only half of the plug was still in the block the other half was also in the bilge. I did not try to restart the motor, and have no idea what could have happened. The motors are SBC with about 600 hr. I had good oil preasure and my oil temp was good and the motors were running at about 140o. Does anyone have and ideas on what may have happened?
Thanks Bob

At some point when you changed or looked at your plugs you had the socket slightly off center
which caused a micro fracture in the insulator. When the plug heated up, this stressed the
facture enough to completely break away. No biggy.

Thats what it sounds like! Put a new plug in and fire back up!
