I heard that one can be refunded money by submitting gas reciepts at tax time. Anyone know anything about this and does it apply to us 'pleasure boaters'?
Thanks.

I do it and it PAYs! In VA you get a refund of .30 cents a gallon, there is a form on our motor vehicle site. Fill in the info (boat license number etc and original receipt) wait three weeks and you get a check. The theory is you are not paying the road tax.
It works in VA.

Works in Washington state-but you have to have receipts from a marine dealer only, and the refund doesnt even bring it down to the price of service station gas.I only gas up on the trailer-or haul it to the boat in 11 gal containers.

Ours requires receipts too but that is about it, just your boat lic #. I can see how this could easily be abused, but so far all I can say is it worked great for me this past season. Bryan

I don't know. Maybe JEB's wife, Columba, keeps it for spending money when she goes out of the country to shop for new clothes.

I'll ask someone at the Department of Revenue . . . naaa, they wouldn't know . . . on second though, I'll ask at the marina where I buy gas for the Magnum.

I don't mean to poke fun at your "expense". Here in Puerto Rico there is no refund. But @1.20 a gallon, who really cares. I keep the F33 topped off with 300 gals and blast to the Virgins 12 Months a year!!! How is that heating oil up North?

Thanks Bonnie. Looking forward to seeing you & George too. Thanks for the help with the 'forms'. What's up with Donzi no longer at Goodhue and now in the Weirs? Are they at Channel Marine now?
See you Friday for some F1 racing!
