http://www.donzi.net/ubb/biggrin.gif GEOO, What a neat thing to have. That is exactly what we need to record the AOTH at Lake Cumberland. I would pay good money to relive the event the next time it gets cold, OK Boxy- cool, in Georgia.

GEOO - you will love your new DV camera. I have a JVC DVM 50 and love it. When boating weather hits TN, I'll make a movie for the board. Until then, try this link for a sample - hope I've done this right!

Oh yeah - turn your sound up and click on the 56K connection, regardless of your actual connect speed.... If it doesn't load, just try again or hit reload

For some unknown reason, I can not access either of these things.
And BTW, I have hardly mentioned it to anyone. Recently, a group of students from the local college, majoring in Film, shot 007 and a 1969 Pachanga for a chase scene used in their final exam. It is a music video of sorts and it came out rather well. The chase scenes are really cool. In part of the footage, they used some video I shot while on the bow of both boats. I have to laugh when I think of it, I almost fell off the Pachanga.
How do I convert the video to mpeg or whatever? I want to be able to put it on CD's.
Anyone got an idea?

GeneD, I bought this little USB Video capture box for my dad last year that does exacly what you want!! You just plug the video out from the VCR into it, and the Audio Out into your sound card, and it's really simple. I captured a couple of videos of my Z this fall so I could get myself through the long winter.....

It's Called a Dazzle Video Photo Capture USB (or something like that), it was like $90.00 at insight.com. It's certainly not a professional tool, but the quality isn't bad, and it's very cheap and easy.

I for one really want to see this video of yours!!

Another way to get the video onto your computer is to use a "video capture card" that you install on your mother board. Try a WinTV card - you know, one of those cards that lets you tune in TV on your computer? They have RCA type video and audio jacks that you can plug your VCR or camcorder into. Video editing software should also come with the card. This is necessary to clip/edit/compress/etc. Video files get huge!

My camera and computer have IEEE-1394/Firewire connections which are really the ultimate for home PC use.

I just retried my link to the Tuna Times movie and it worked for me.

Scott,
This sounds like a good idea.
Is it at all possible that we could get it onto the website too?
When you see it, you are going to laugh. It is a riot. They do a James Bond type of thing set to music. I also got to glimpse the raw footage which is even more funny considering that the bow shots I took, you can hear the roar of the engine and me cursing as I almost fall off the boat.
I do not have a copy yet. I only saw the master copy. But I'll have one soon.

GeneD,
I'll give it a shot! I'm going to need a copy of the file which could be sent to me by e-mail. I'll try putting that file with the other web site files and then I'll have to find a good Donzi picture or clever title to link the file to. Something like: Would you like to test ride in a Donzi? Awesome!
I'm getting a copy this afternoon.
Outakes too huh? We'll see...at least I'll get the DVD "Deleted Scenes" footage! A lot of the raw footage is shaky and boring. But the bow shots were funny, no doubt about that.
We'll get it done.
Maybe we can show it at Orlando!
