It will be here tomorrow,2002 model but an exact duplicate of my 1986 down to the last detail,no cleats,no ski tow,no coaming panels.I even found a Perko telescoping stern light. Pardon me while I go back in time,life sometimes seems too short, this boat should make me feel young again. I'll keep yall posted. Magicfloat

350 MagnumMPI.Closest I could get to the old 260 hp carb Merc in my 86. Still have the old 23 Cleaver prop but new technolegy probrably has made it obsolete,may try it tho just to see.

Magic Float - Congrats on the new boat, sound absolutely beautiful, can't wait to see pics. BTW... is that 23 Cleaver a LH prop and would you consider getting rid of it if it was? --Brad

Brad,I think all the old cleavers were RH,we didn't have counter rotation alphas back then. I think I have 2, both long hubs. Would gladly sell them pretty cheap but they really don't work as well as what is available now. They were the best we had in the 80's but props have come a long way since then.

Let me know how the stern light turns out.I would like to install one on my 18 but worry about clearence in the bildge.The stock one in my 1976 x-18 is not tall enough for todays requirements. It's original so there for legal but I don't like to have to explain to the man when I get pulled over for it.

Got it in today,great quality and workmanship,takes me back to 1986. Entire boat seems flawless and perfect. Ran it this afternoon,runs just like my old one but faster. Slight chinewalk at 65 but it feels great. Alittle overpropped with a 25 Mirage but that's easy to fix,23 Mirage or 25 Laser 2,we stock those so I'll prop test tomorrow if the weather holds out.Corsa mufflers are too quite,will have to modify them. All in all avery pleasant first run. Very little has changed in 35 years and to me that's great.
