View Full Version : Thrust Washer ???

Trying out a new (used) Mercury Cleaver prop and it sits down on the shaft deeper into the casing than my current one to the point where it wants to rub on the casing. Question: do thrust washers come in different thicknesses to enable you to compensate for this? The drive is an Alpha SS. Thanks for any info.

Yes, there are many, but you must get the correct
one for the exact application.

Yes, I had a cleaver and it required a thicker thrust washer. I didn't realize it, but when I took it in to get the coupler replaced, my wrench pointed it out to me. Luckily, it hadn't been on long enoght to damage the case. He had a whole box full of different thrust washers.
