Just completed a test ride on a 1996 16'
Donzi. It has a Mercruiser V6 gen+ with
thru hull exhaust. The speed was approx.
51-53 with a rpm of 4400-4600. The operating
rpm range is 4400-4800. Is there any way
to increase speed and still stay in operating
range? The prop that is on there now is a
23 pitch. Would like to get it up 60 mph.

See my response in the Talk to the Factory section where you asked this question. If the 4.3 is a 2bbl, 55.0 is about all she'll do. If a 4bbl, maybe 2-3mph more. If the fuel injection model maybe 3-4 more. Others here will also tell you that a Mirage 23P prop will give you the most increase for the least amount of total expense and hassel. Check your speed with a GPS. Cheaper than converting from 2bbl carb to any other configuration. 60mph with that setup will be hard to get I think. That's why I bought an 18 after only 6 months in the new 16.
