Or have any experience with their 21 GT model ?? I found one in pretty fair shape with a 225 Johnson. The price is to good to pass up, I need a river beater, I'm curious as to the history and reputation of the boats

If it is the Challenger that I know of it is a fantastic boat. One of the best race records of anything in its class. Superboat bought the molds and built them for years. Go to the Superboat website (I think www.superboatonline.com) (http://www.superboatonline.com)) and there is some info. Bullet proof rough water V bottom that can't be beat (I know, I have one).

Great solid boats but check the transom and the hull coring first. They are light and take an incredible beating but, if it was left with water in it....you know.

Looks like the MINX and 38' Cig hull design.
Anyone have the pedigree on it?

I took the liberty of triming the photo down a bit. Nice looking boat. Here's the link to superboats.

Gary,
Looks like it's overhanging the trailer a bit in the back. Check the bottom carefully to make sure it hasn't developed a hook near the transom.
It's very possible, especially with all that weight hanging on the transom! I had that problem with an outboard I bought with the same kind of misfitting trailer.
Just lookin' out,
Eric

It sure looks alot like a MINX!
The specs were just about the same too, I'm away from home, but will double check when I get back to Miami.

Challenger was one of the biggest names in Racing back in the 70s to early 80s. That 21ft became the Superboat Legend when John Cohen (SuperBoat) aquired the molds from them. The boat was a great racing boat for her size and took one heck of a beating. I think back then they were classed A boats.

Take a look at the pics of my my 22 Apache in the "Other Boats for Sale", the hull mold was pulled off a Challenger!
