Well I had my doubts, but those have been erased. Scot is the Master, I shall never again waiver from my faith. I had a serious scum line on the REVENGE, so I got some Hot Rims cleaner as Scot had instructed and...well the pictures speak for themselves.

Couple of things to remember. Use protective gear, goggles, respirator, & glooves. My hands are peeling pretty bad. Also, I now have a spotted trailer. I used up 2 extra bottles trying to get the trailer completely cleaned, but no luck.

Still, I'll take a spotted trailer, for how easily this stuff cleaned the hull.

Thanks Harbormaster :) .

I went out the day after Scot's post last year and bought it and also am a 100% believer. I have not had the skin problem using a saturated sponge to lightly and I mean lightly rub the real tough dark spots. It is truly great stuff and unbelievably easy!

Just a couple of questions. Do I want to use the Hot Rims or Gold Class Instant Wheel Cleaner? They seem like similar products. Has anyone had any expirences? Is this stuff completely safe to use on the outdrive? Has anyone else experienced the spotted trailer effect. Is there a way to ensure this won't happen short of covering the trailer with a tarp to minimize this effect? I have had the boat in Lake Ontario since mid April and it is coated with some thick sea slime. This seems to be the best solution, I just do not want to ruin the trailer.

When I used the DREADED ACID stuff I used to wet the trailer down, the cleaner does spot only aluminum. I use the McGuires on my auto's wheels where ever the clear coat is chipped off the aluminum gets smokey looking, a little cleaner wax fixes it. No matter what you can not beat the cleaning action and the non toxicity of the McGuires.

Hey Jeff,

I do not get the spotting on my trailer but I wet the boat and trailer fist before using it. I use it on the aluminum wheels of my beamer with no problems....

I see you also enjoy fine well crafted machines, Donzi and a Beamer. Got my first Donzi in April and will be getting the BMW in December. Thanks for the feedback. The trailer is mint and I would not want to ruin it with 4 months of owning it. Thanks for the hat and this site, you do us all a great service.
